We're committed to providing the industry with technology-centric, high-value solutions.
Dispersible Granule, or "DG" Technology is The Andersons' patented nutrient delivery system. With DG Technology, particles are more rapidly and efficiently broken down.
Upon contact with water, each DG granule disperses into thousands of micro particles that move through the turf canopy into the root zone. This level of dispersibility delivers precise nutrient delivery, while eliminating issues associated with runoff and nutrient loss.
No Mower Pickup
Following irrigation, DG products immediately begin dispersing down into the soil, eliminating mower pickup and delivering 100% of the applied nutrients right where you need them. Mower pickup of conventional granular fertilizers is reported to be as high as 15-25%.
No Particle Movement
DG products disperse quickly and completely when watered, moving directly into the soil. In a heavy rain or over-irrigation, conventional fertilizers may float and be carried off the intended application area, or be deposited in low lying areas, where they may cause damage.
No Mower Damage or Residual Shells
DG Technology does not rely on a physical coating to release nutrients. Coated nutrients are very susceptible to damage from mowers, resulting in premature nutrient release.
Less Interruption of Play
The fact that products utilizing our DG Technology require less watering to disperse the nutrient granules means that you can enjoy less downtime, along with a drier and firmer playing surface.
No Sticky Residue
With DG Technology, you can enjoy a line of products that melt directly into the soil. The result is no sticky fertilizer residue, which can accumulate on shoes, balls and other equipment.
How Does Humic Acid Precursor Work?
Humic acid precursor contains a soluble form of organic carbon which releases into the soil as Nutri DG, Humic DG, Black Gypsum DG and DG Pro granules disperse. Through biochemical reactions in the soil, humic acid precursor is transformed into humic and fulvic acids, which help chelate nutrients in the soil. The optimum rate of humic acid precursor is applied when Nutri DG, Humic DG, Black Gypsum DG and DG Pro are applied at label rates.

The Turf Nutrition Tool is a web-based platform that allows turf managers to create customized, season-long nutrition programs and model the nitrogen release of granular and foliar products.
This latest version of the Turf Nutrition Tool has been completely reimagined to be mobile-friendly and accessible from any device. It offers the ability to create, save and share custom turf nutrition programs, and includes new product listings for Contec DG® - Gen 3, Foltec® SG, HCU™ - Humic Coated Urea, and more.

The following represent our controlled release nitrogen options, each with its own set of advantages and applications. Detailed information is provided on each below.
MUtech is The Andersons' brand of methylene urea slow release nitrogen. The family of MUtech products is optimized to provide uniform color, improved turf density and surge growth control.
The four choices of MUtech are each highly engineered to deliver steady, predictable nitrogen treatments, regardless of climate zone.
MUtech is available in our Contec DG and Tee Time blended products.
Proven Product Benefits
MUtech helps professionals achieve the most predictable and favorable results by providing them the greatest flexibility in tailoring turf nutrition programs.
The graphic above represents a typical MUtech release over time. Here are some acronyms you'll need in order to understand this graph: MDU: Methylene Diurea, DMTU: Dimethylene Triurea, TMTU: Trimethylene Tetraurea, TMPU: Tetramethylene Pentaurea.
NS-54 is a polymer-coated sulfur-coated urea for controlled release nitrogen feeding.
The Advantages of NS-54
Extend is polymer-coated urea that is used for controlled release nitrogen feeding.
The Advantages of Extend
LN3 is a controlled-release liquid nitrogen nutrient based on urea-triazone technology. It is a cyclic compound, not a chain, and is chemically very stable. Its microbial degradation mechanism is better than straight chain MU, making LN3 very predicatable.
LN3 can be found in Foltec Nusion.
The key to good fertilization and good active ingredient performance is good particles – whether they are homogenous or blended, dispersible or not dispersible.
Physical properties, size and consistency are all critical.

The Size Guide Number (or SGN) is the average particle diameter of the product, expressed in millimeters, then multiplied by 100.
For example, a product with an average particle size of 1.5mm will have an SGN of 150.
The Uniformity Index is the ratio between large and small particles, multiplied by 100.
For example, a product whose UI is 50 means that the average small particle is half the size of the average large particle.
